Funeral Plans

The loss of a loved one can be a time of great distress but also of spiritual blessing. Our parish is committed to providing funeral liturgies that both honour the deceased and strengthen the faith of the living. It is appropriate to contact the parish immediately, even before meeting with the funeral director to plan the funeral Mass.

The Church encourages the burial of the body, after the manner of Christ's own burial, out of respect for the human body and due to our belief in the resurrection of the body. However, cremation may be chosen for sufficient reasons. When cremation is designated, the church encourages the funeral to be conducted with the body present and cremation to take place after the celebration of the Funeral Mass.
